EMC PowerPath Multipathing

EMC PowerPath Multipathing automates data path management, failover and recovery, and optimizes load balancing to ensure application availability and performance, unlike native operating system multiple path I/O (MPIO) solutions.

Automate failover and recovery – Remove the threat of application disruptions from adapter and cable failures or user errors. Automate failover to alternate data paths and keep business processes online. Leverage intelligent, dynamic path testing to remove faulty paths and restore repaired paths to service without user intervention and without disrupting applications.

Optimize load balancing – Eliminate I/O bottlenecks by intelligently optimizing data access across all available data paths. Ensure that no path becomes overloaded while others have underutilized bandwidth. Leverage load-based path testing to ensure the viability of a data path for the workload assigned to it.
