Oracle as a Service

Can be offered in three ways:

  • Virtual Machine Image pre-loaded with an optimized instance of Oracle and launched at a service providers datacenter managed by the customer
  • Service Provider takes the responsibility for installing and maintaining the oracle database, and application owners access the database over the internet and are billed according to their usage
  • Managed database hosting, where the database is not offered as a service, but the cloud provider hosts the database and manages it on the application owner's behalf
