End User Computing (EUC)
End User Computing pertains to how users, with multiple devices, are able to access their applications & data from anywhere at any time. Organizations typically deploy some form of VDI to provide secure access for EUC. End User Computing looks to seamlessly integrate these users, with their devices, into the computing environment. An EUC strategy thereby enables mobility and Bring-Your-Own-Device.
An effective EUC/VDI infrastructure typically consists of servers for the virtualization software, flash storage for the desktop images and NAS storage for the data, plus networking.
What is End User Computing?
Enterprises large and small can benefit from an effective End User Computing strategy. Today’s knowledge workers are highly mobile, choosing to work in many different environments with multiple devices. In addition, savvy users have grown accustomed to instant access to services via the cloud on their mobile devices. IT organizations must provide a high performing IT infrastructure in order to serve up the key applications and data that their end users demand. And they need a way to secure that data without the risk of impacting intellectual property.
Why should I consider End User Computing?
End User Computing should be implemented in order to provide the mobile workforce access to the applications they need, at the time they need and on the device they want. All-Flash storage and Converged Infrastructure make the implementation of EUC faster and simpler – allowing you to focus on delivering seamless access instead of maintaining and configuring the underlying infrastructure.
Benefits of End User Computing
Offering mobility and BYOD to end-users is a requirement for large organizations today, and EUC can deliver on that promise. IT organizations benefit from the ability of centralizing desktops and data within the datacenter, keeping it secure and making it easier to manage the user experience. End users get the benefit of working on multiple devices from anywhere at any time.
