Peter Lacoste, head of Global Managed Services, marks the official opening of the Global Command Center in Bangalore.

EMC Managed Services, part of EMC Global Services, provides industry-leading best practices and infrastructure that include proactive, predictive services and innovative tools and technologies that enable customers to access support 24/7. The power of the GCC comes from combining the EMC Services framework, methodologies, and intellectual property with industry-leading EMC products. With the GCC, Managed Services is moving to a model where services will be preventive and self-healing, providing customers with faster resolutions to high-level incidents.

This is EMC’s first Global Command Center for Managed Services. The GCC has been strategically set up within the EMC India COE, given the India center’s proven quality of delivery and the availability of a large pool of highly skilled resources.

This latest center is another chapter in EMC’s continuing commitment to driving TCE for customers. Launching the Global Command Center in Bangalore required cross-functional collaboration between Managed Services, Customer Support, IT, Facilities, and several product business units. The 120-seat GCC boasts a strong team spanning three tiers of support to meet varying customer requirements. The team has the expertise to solve customer problems in any industry across the globe, covering the entire spectrum of Managed Services solutions including Big Data, Cloud Enablement, Backup as a Service, and Storage as a Service.

“A great example of a service GCC provides is a solution in the backup space where automatic backup job failure identification and restarts can drastically reduce the volume of incidents,” Peter says.

The GCC is ISO27K-certified for information security.

Employees meet in the new Global Command Center. (Center, l. to r.) Jason McGregor, MS delivery lead; Peter Lacoste; and Ed Berndt, PS delivery lead, help cut the cake.
