Fujitsu Siemens Computers to offer a comprehensive services framework for next generation IT architectures - Collaboration with EMC on emerging technologies

Munich / Hannover, Wednesday, March 14, 2007 -

Today at CeBIT Fujitsu Siemens Computers President and CEO Bernd Bischoff and EMC Corporation Chairman, President and CEO Joe Tucci announced a significant expansion of their strategic alliance to address new customer IT challenges. The two IT leaders will create new services frameworks for advanced data center architectures, as well as major collaboration for supporting technologies. Additionally, IT Product Services (ITPS), the services arm of Fujitsu Siemens Computers, has joined the EMC Authorized Services Network providing services for specific EMC midrange networked storage solutions sold in EMEA by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. This announcement marks the 10th anniversary of the partnership between Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC.

"Customers are rapidly moving to next-generation IT architectures and they're demanding best-of-breed technologies that are integrated and well-supported. Together, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC will deliver information infrastructure solutions that meet customer needs and help customers exploit new technologies to improve business efficiencies," said Joe Tucci, EMC Chairman, President and CEO. "What makes the Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC 10 year relationship unique is the historical breadth and depth of our broad collaboration in technology, services and solutions."

New elements of the expanded Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC relationship include:

"Today we're taking one of the strongest partnerships in the industry, and bringing it to a new level for the benefit of our customers. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is firmly established as EMC's largest reseller in EMEA, and with EMC's leading information infrastructure solutions our storage business continues to grow faster than the market," said CEO Bernd Bischoff. "EMC's excellent levels of customer service are known across the industry – so it is a huge endorsement for our ITPS division to be entrusted with servicing specific EMC midrange networked storage solutions sold in EMEA by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Achievements like this are helping to drive the profitable growth of our ITPS business."

Milestones in the industry-leading and mutually-profitable relationship have included the introduction of Fujitsu Siemens Computers' OEM versions of EMC CLARiiON under the FibreCAT brand and EMC NetWorker, and Fujitsu Siemens Computers' CentricStor Virtual Tape Appliance joining EMC's Select program in 2006.

The announcement is a stamp of approval for ITPS, which was acquired by the leading European technology provider Fujitsu Siemens Computers in April 2006, and is the latest in a series of additional steps the companies have taken since the storage vendor alliance was forged back in 1997.

Bernd Bischoff continues: "The immediate benefit for our customers is ITPS gains deep and valuable knowledge on EMC midrange storage solutions to deliver complete end-to-end solutions. We are honored that our achievements in working closely with EMC have been recognized in this way, and we look forward to the next 10 years of working closely together."
