Northeastern University and EMC to Recognize Onsite High-Tech MBA Graduates

Congressman Richard E. Neal, Northeastern University President Richard M. Freeland, and EMC Executive Chairman Michael C. Ruettgers, among others, to laud graduates

Franklin,, Monday, May 6, 2002 - 

Northeastern University and EMC Corporation will recognize the first onsite high-tech MBA program by saluting the first graduating class on Monday, May 6, at EMC's Franklin facility. Twenty-three Northeastern University students, all EMC Corporation employees, will be lauded by school officials, members of EMC's senior management and local government officials.

Northeastern University's high-tech MBA program stands as the premier program in New England for fast-track managers in high-tech product and services industries. It is a comprehensive MBA program designed for managers who not only need to continue working full-time, but wish to use the program to achieve advancement and promotion in their companies and industries. The onsite program at EMC, which kicked off in October 1999, follows the same curriculum as the Boston-based program. Students attend classes taught by Northeastern University academic staff at EMC's Franklin, Massachusetts, manufacturing facility.

The charter graduates will be recognized by the following guest speakers: Michael C. Ruettgers, EMC Executive Chairman; Dick Lehane, EMC Senior Vice President of Worldwide Manufacturing; Richard M. Freeland, President, Northeastern University; Ira Weiss, Dean of Northeastern's College of Business Administration and Richard E. Neal, U.S. House of Representatives, 2nd Massachusetts Congressional District.

Members of EMC's executive staff, professors from Northeastern University and business leaders, including Alan Macdonald, Executive Director of the Mass Business Roundtable, Richard Lord, President & CEO of Associated Industries of Massachusetts and James T. Brett, President & CEO of The New England Council also will attend to congratulate the graduates on their accomplishment.
