EMC Recognized by CIO Magazine as one of the CIO 100 Award Winners

Honorees receive award during CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony

HOPKINTON, Mass, August 16, 2013 -

EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) announced today that it was as honored among IDG's 2013 CIO 100. The 26th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).

“For 26 years now, the CIO 100 awards have honored the innovative use of technology to deliver genuine business value,” said Maryfran Johnson, Editor in Chief of CIO magazine & events. “Our 2013 winners are an outstanding example of the transformative power of IT to drive everything from revenue growth to competitive advantage.”

EMC® was recognized for its two-year joint IT and business-driven program to replace the company’s decade-old ERP system with SAP’s next-generation line of business system. Code-named PROPEL, this initiative was built on EMC’s highly virtualized, state-of-the-art private cloud environment; spans EMC’s core operations and almost every business process; and impacted more than 42,000 business users and partners.

Tony Pagliarulo, Senior Vice President and IT’s Chief Operating Officer, accepted the award on behalf of EMC at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, August 13th in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“This honor is a testament to the PROPEL team’s hard work and execution-driven dedication alongside the business over the last two years,” said Pagliarulo. “We not only completed the program on time and budget, but together, we successfully launched the next-generation, mission critical line of business systems EMC will rely on for the future.”
