Extended Support

EMC Extended Support helps you get more value from your investment in EMC hardware or software. You may not be ready to migrate or upgrade your EMC hardware or software once it comes to the end of its service life. With EMC Extended Support, you can continue to receive additional support sold in six-month increments, enabling you to map out the transition plan that best meets your business needs.

EMC Extended Support provides the following capabilities:

  • First year — Receive all the benefits provided by your existing support agreement for all Severity 1 cases, including hot fixes to product defects if necessary. For other severity levels, EMC will deliver best-effort support.
  • Second year — Get technical support on the operation of EMC software as well as workarounds to product defects for Severity 1 cases. Hot fixes are not included.
