EMC mainframe solutions including the Symmetrix VMAX, Disk Library for mainframe, and Connectrix family are trusted in mainframe environments to deliver the highest levels of innovation, performance, and availability.
The EMC Symmetrix VMAX family are high-performance, highly available and reliable storage solutions for mainframe environments. The VMAX 20K scales up to 2.1 PB while the VMAX 40K is in a class by itself providing the highest levels of performance and scaling up to 4 PB. With Enterprise Flash Drives and Fully Automated Storage Tiering for Virtual Pools (FAST VP), the VMAX family automatically optimizes performance for all mainframe applications at the lowest TCO.
For system availability, EMC array-based replication products are recognized industry-wide. SRDF and TimeFinder are foundational technologies to ensure high availability, while AutoSwap and Geographically Dispersed Disaster Restart (GDDR) provide continuous availability and automate disaster restart for mainframe environments.
EMC Disk Library for mainframe (DLm) is the industry's first complete, self-contained tape-on-disk system for use in IBM mainframe environments. It's unique in that it concurrently supports primary and deduplication storage in a single, manageable solution and dynamically directs tape files to the most appropriate storage on a file-by-file basis. The DLm supports all mainframe tape use cases resulting in significant savings on data center floor space without compromising data protection, reliability, performance, or functionality.
