EMC built a new virtual data center to accelerate our private cloud deployment.
Our enterprise data center in Massachusetts was running out of capacity. We decided to build a super-efficient, next generation virtual data center in Durham, North Carolina.

100% Virtual
EMC IT is moving toward 100 percent virtual infrastructure.
In addition to hosting applications on a shared, tiered virtual infrastructure, we will run all applications on a single data center operating system—VMware VSphere on standard x86 enterprise architecture running on Vblock infrastructure platforms from the VCE Company.
A single data center OS gives us workload mobility within and across multiple data centers. That’s our private cloud.
