Paid Internships and Cooperative Opportunities

EMC offers cooperative and internship opportunities focused on technology, sales, and other business disciplines.

• Cooperative education — Sign on for these paid positions offered in three-, six-, and eight-month terms throughout the year. To be eligible, graduates or undergraduates must be enrolled in a formal cooperative program at an accredited college or university. Students receive credit and grades for their cooperative assignments.
• Internships — Take on exciting assignments and projects in specific fields of study. Most internships are offered full-time during the summer months. However, programs are also available during winter break and part-time during the school year.

As a cooperative or intern, you'll work on challenging projects that draw upon knowledge acquired from your academic training. For example, if you are a marketing student, you may conduct analysis for the marketing group. Positions are offered to students majoring in business, marketing, finance, computer science, information technology, electrical and computer engineering, and law. These positions are primarily available in Massachusetts, Northern California, and in field offices across the U.S. As an intern or cooperative, you'll generally work full-time (about 40 hours per week). However, opportunities may exist to work part-time during the academic year.

Eligibility

Participation in either the internship or cooperative program requires:

• Registration as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student during and following your internship or cooperative assignment.
• A record of strong academic achievement, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
• Commitment to the duration of the assignment, which is generally three months for a summer internship or three to six months for a cooperative assignment.

Also, to qualify as an intern or cooperative, your project description must be directly related to your classroom studies and approved by an EMC intern/cooperative specialist. If the description does not meet the criteria of a value-added project, it may be identified as a temporary position, enabling you to be hired through TAC, our temporary staffing partner.
