When Perot Systems contracted with several customers to digitally archive paper historical technical documents, the software that they had previously used for similar projects was not sensitive to faint graphical lines or manually highlighted text.This resulted in time-consuming manual work and ultimately customer complaints regarding poor quality.

Perot replaced their previous solution with EMC Captiva QuickScan Pro.This high-speed scanning solution captured all lines and improved overall clarity. It allowed for image enhancement such as de-skewing, de-speckling and noise reduction, optical character recognition (OCR), viewing, annotation, printing, and image storing for both black-and-white and color pages.

With Captiva, Perot saves both money and time. “Production has tripled and customer complaints are never an issue,” says Gilman.
