John T. (Jack) Mollen

Jack Mollen is Executive Vice President of Human Resources at EMC Corporation. With revenues of $17 billion in 2010 and approximately 48,500 people worldwide, EMC is a global leader in enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver IT as a service. Through innovative products and services, EMC accelerates the journey to cloud computing, helping IT departments to store, manage, protect and analyze their most valuable asset – information – in a more agile, trusted and cost-efficient way.

John T. (Jack) Mollen

Mollen leads EMC's global Human Resources practice to ensure the availability of world-class talent to drive business success. His responsibilities include executive, leadership, and employee development; compensation and benefits; staffing; and all of the people-related aspects of acquisition integration. He reports to Joe Tucci, EMC's Chairman, President and CEO.

Mollen joined EMC in 1999. Since then, the company has grown organically as well as through strategic acquisitions and has developed industry-leading talent and employee-oriented programs and systems to support EMC as the leader in information infrastructure and virtual infrastructure technologies and solutions that enable organizations to implement cloud computing. EMC has major operations in Massachusetts, where the company is headquartered, and in California, North Carolina, China, Egypt, India, Ireland, Israel, Russia, and Singapore as well as sales and service centers in more than 80 countries.

In October 2006, Mollen was recognized as "HR Executive of the Year" by Human Resource Executive magazine, which cited his role in building "a modern, responsive, strategy-focused HR team that plays an integral role in executing business goals." Among his many achievements, he has been an innovator in putting EMC at the forefront of influencing the health care marketplace to help manage employee and company costs. EMC has pioneered employee health initiatives in partnership with Boston University; introduced online Health Management tools using leading health education technology; and been a major sponsor of National Health Access, a program designed to provide affordable health insurance options for up to three million uninsured Americans. He is a board member of the New England Healthcare Institute, a group of business, medical, and government leaders dedicated to practical solutions to critical health care issues.

Mollen has significant experience in executive compensation policy and administration. He has been active throughout his career in advocating for strengthening corporate governance, and the alignment of executive compensation with organizational and shareholder interests. He is a director of the Washington, D.C. based HR Policy Association, a leading public policy group of senior HR executives of the largest U.S. employers, and is a founding member of the Center on Executive Compensation.

In addition, he is an advisory board member for Working Mother magazine, which promotes opportunity for women in business. His community involvement include service on the board of directors of the United Way of Tri-County in Massachusetts and as a trustee of Angel Flight New England, which provides free flights for adults and children throughout the northeast United Sates so that they can access medical care. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Chairman of the Compensation Committee.

Prior to joining EMC, Mollen was Vice President of Human Resources for Citigroup's 80,000-person Global Operations and Technology organization. He played a key employee-integration role following the 1998 merger of Citicorp and Travelers Group, Inc. Before joining Citigroup, he held a number of positions with Harris Corp., where as Vice President of Administration he was responsible for IS, Quality, Engineering Services, Human Resources, Mergers and Acquisitions, Facilities and Security for the company's 12,000-person Electronic Systems sector.

Mollen holds a degree in Economics from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, and a Master's degree in Labor Relations from St. Francis College in Pennsylvania.
